Welcome to the European College of Business and Management, where your academic journey begins! We understand that your first teaching input can be both exciting and yet induce some feelings of nervousness. To ensure you make the most of this valuable learning experience, we've put together a handy guide on what you should bring and what to expect during your weekend lectures as a part-time student in the UK and Germany. So, let's dive in and get you ready to embark on this educational adventure!

What to Bring:

  • All Materials Sent to You Beforehand: Before each lecture, our dedicated faculty will send you the necessary materials, including readings, assignments, and case studies. Be sure to review and print these documents to have them at your fingertips during the session.

  • Pen and Paper: A classic choice for note-taking, a trusty pen, and a notebook will come in handy. Sometimes, the simplest tools can be the most effective for capturing key insights and ideas. Alternatively, bring your tablet or laptop to take notes for those who prefer digital note-taking - but make sure your notes stay organised, and you are ready to collaborate in groups for group projects. So a pen is a must!

  • Laptop, Charger, and tablet (if available): Don't forget to bring your laptop and charger for any presentations you should hold and to access digital resources as well as the student platform during the teaching input.

  • All Case Studies: Ensure you've downloaded or printed any case studies provided by your lecturers. These real-world examples are essential for in-depth discussions and application of course concepts.

  • Do Suggested Reading or Research Beforehand: To get the most out of your lectures, take the time to read the suggested materials or conduct any necessary research in advance. This will help you engage more actively in class discussions, and you will be able to make the most of the short time spent together in class.

  • Download Lecture Slides from the Platform: Our college uses a user-friendly platform to distribute lecture slides. Be sure to download these materials in advance to follow along with the presentations seamlessly and even skim through the slides beforehand.

  • Food and Drinks: You'll need some brain fuel to stay focused during your lectures, so pack some snacks and a reusable water bottle. While we provide short breaks, having refreshments on hand can help you stay energised.

    .

What to Expect:

Now that you're packed and ready, let's talk about what you can expect during your first teaching input:

  • Engaging Lectures: Our experienced lecturers are passionate about their subjects and eager to share their knowledge with you. Expect engaging and interactive lectures that will challenge your thinking.

  • Collaborative Learning: Our part-time programmes are designed to foster collaboration and discussion among students. Prepare to participate in group activities and share your insights with your peers.

  • Access to Resources: You'll have access to our extensive library resources, online databases, and academic support services to help you excel in your studies.

  • Supportive Environment: At ECBM, we prioritise your success. Our support staff are here to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have along the way.

Your first teaching input at ECBM is an exciting step in your educational journey. By bringing the right materials and setting your expectations, you'll be well-prepared to make the most of your part-time studies in the UK and Germany. We can't wait to see you in class, and we wish you a rewarding and enriching academic experience!
